Certified Trainer - Food & Beverage (FOH)

Are you ready to train the Pack?
Certified Trainers will be the first to guide new Pack Members through a structured program that takes a blended approach to learning by utilizing Great Wolf U (e-learning), classroom training, and on-the-job training.
To become a Certified Trainer (CT), you will go through a half-day of interactive training focused on adult learning principles, how to adjust your training style to meet the learner’s needs, how to facilitate classroom training and much more.
As a Certified Trainer, you will guide the trainee through daily training agendas in Great Wolf U, mentor them during on-the-job training shifts, and sign-off on their daily progress. You will also learn how to communicate with your fellow trainers and leaders to ensure that every new Pack Member is well trained and ready to deliver ImPACKful Service to our guests.
Certified Trainer Perks
* $1 an hour increase while training (CT job code) - Pack Members currently compensated at minimum wage will receive their vacation rate + $1 CT increase + tips
* End-of-shift "wrap up" meal with trainee- Time to sit down and recap the day, answer questions, etc. Leadership will provide guidance on timing, location, and duration.
* Quarterly CT meetings with Director and Managers - opportunity to strengthen communication, bond as a team, evaluate trainees/identify gaps in their training, discuss ways to improve in the future, etc.
* Bi-yearly CT team building events in the lodge - Group activities to build trust, develop more effective communication skills, and strengthen bond as a training team
* Opportunity for Pack Members who want to advance their career at Great Wolf and be considered for Supervisor Essentials Program
* Certified Trainers will have the opportunity to apply to be a member of the new lodge opening training team
General Certified Trainer Qualifications:
- Has been a Pack Member for at least three months, in good standing, No corrective action in the past 90 days, and must have a minimum rating of strong contributor
- Passion for training and a desire to train new Pack Members
- Strong communication skills - conveys ideas and objectives effectively and is able to listen, understand, and respond to what others are telling you
- Positive attitude and friendly, welcoming demeanor
- Exemplifies and embodies Our Purpose & Values
- Actively demonstrates ImPACKful Service during every shift and leads by example
- Able to properly and responsibly handle inventory and equipment
- Knowledge of the position you would train and everything a new Pack Member would be required to learn
- Knowledge of the building including storerooms, emergency procedures, and radio codes
- Eye for detail and committed to doing things the Great Wolf way
- Able to keep composure with angry guests and demonstrate excellent guest recovery skills
- Proactive and demonstrates strategic thinking (comes with a solution to problems)
- Patient, flexible, and adaptable
- Credible - adheres to policies and procedures and has earned the respect of leaders and fell
- Note: CTs can be removed from their CT position at any time due to corrective action
Front of House Qualifications:
- Excellent menu/product knowledge - knows ingredients & allergens
- Leads by example when it comes to ImPACKful Service and proper execution of Steps of Service
- Asks the right questions and seek out ways to anticipate guest needs
- Consistently demonstrates use of sales lines & strategies
- Expert at using the POS system and ringing in items
Front of House Trainers Positions:
- Quick Service/Outlet Trainers - Prefer candidates to be cross-trained in at least two outlets
- Restaurant Trainers
- Coffee Shop Trainers
- Banquet Trainers
